How to edit a video with Claude

Claude can edit your videos once it has an editor to work in. Connect it to videoFn, describe the video you want and give notes until it's right.

1. Connect Claude to videoFn

Download videoFn for your Mac and open it.
On the launch screen, click Connect next to Claude or Claude Code.
Quit Claude and open it again, then start a new chat.

You only do this once. From now on, Claude can use videoFn whenever you ask for a video.

2. Describe the video

Tell Claude what you'd tell a friend who edits video: what it's for, how long it should be and where your files are.

Make a 20-second launch video from the clips in Movies/launch, with upbeat music and our name at the end.

3. Give notes

Watch the draft and say what you'd change, in plain words. Claude keeps the project, so each note builds on the last.

You can also drag timing yourself in the editor, then ask Claude to carry on.

4. Export

Say “export it” or use Export in videoFn. The video renders on your Mac and lands in the project folder, ready to share.

Tips

Give exact folder names. “The clips in Movies/launch” works better than “my launch clips”.
Say who will watch. A video for customers and one for your team need different choices.
Show Claude an example you like, and it can match the style.
